HMS views itself as the perfect management company for new owners and investors in the hotel industry because we can customize our approach to what our clients need. Our Story

Avtar and Aman Dhillon founded California-based Hotel Management Solutions in 2005.

The Dhillon's entered the hotel industry in 1997 with their purchase of a Best Western in Central California, by the year 2000 they had added two more hotels to their portfolio, in 2003 they built their first 72-room hotel, in CA. By 2015 the HMS team had been overseeing 11 hotels in the states of CA, WA, NM, AZ, and OR. Through the years they guided and advised many of their friends and family on HMS principles to success. These principles have helped many investors succeed during a recession and navigate through over developed markets. The demand for their knowledge and expertise led to the creation of HMS.

Avtar Dhillon

Owner

A true American Success Story. Avtar has more than 35 years of retail and hospitality experience, a Master of Economics from Khalsa College Amritsar in India, and is an expert in managing finances. He has a brilliant track record of owning and developing businesses across sectors. He is adept at budget forecasting, financial reporting, corporate tax planning, and analyzing revenue forecasts to project future trends. He offers detailed and research-based advice on strategies to meet his clients' business needs.

Aman Dhillon

Aman Dhillon

Aman is a 21-year veteran of the lodging industry and holds an MBA in Hospitality Operations from the University of Phoenix and is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). She has worked for IHG, Hilton Worldwide, Choice International, Best Western International, Wyndham Hotel Group, and RLH Corporation. Aman is experienced in analyzing hospitality trends and conducting research in local communities. Her ownership interests in rural market hotels give her special insight on suburban and rural competitive market. She was instrumental in starting Hotel funded TBID to increase marketing funding and exposure to rural northern California.

Monica Mendoza

Regional Director of Sales

Monica has been actively involved in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years and has served as Regional Director of Sales at Hotel Management Solutions for the past five years. She has experience with independent, extended stay, boutique and full-service hotels in markets ranging from large urban to small rural. Monica is responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing efforts for all our clients, as well as managing sales,  leads received from a franchise and third-party companies.

Lowell Pratt

Regional Manager

Lowell has been in the hospitality industry since 1983, working as an engineer for the 250-room Excelsior Hotel in Provo, Utah while still in college. He quickly worked his way to front office positions and has served as General Manager and Regional Manager for several major hotel companies and some of the most prominent hotels in the Western U.S. He has worked on acquisitions, renovations, large-scale conventions and high-profile events including the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Amy Valente

Revenue Manager

Amy has a Bachelor's Degree in World Studies from the University of Santa Barbara and more than a decade in the hospitality industry and is well-versed in the daily workings of hotels, revenue management, and bringing properties up to Franchise and financial expectations. She specializes in Yield Management techniques.

 

Administrative Officer

Cathy Davis

Administrative Officer

Cathy has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in the airport and convention markets. She previously worked with Marriott, Hilton, and Best Western. Her knowledge of hotel guest relations and staff training is exceptional, and she will ensure that your hotel is up to franchise standard with online reviews, and brand and safety standards.
